Training Race
Again, still dealing with coughing issue, I had a hard time to get out of my thick blanket in the morning to do some running. The only motivation for me to get out was only because I needed this race as my last long run before my Monument Valley 100 in a couple of weeks.
It was lower 30F that morning, it was way too cold for me. I was late that barely make it to the starting line on-time, I forgot my OrangeMud single barrel and also the bottles, and had no breakfast. Probably a combination of rushing mode and cold, I was starting the race way too fast. The first 3 loops, I was carried away, and running sub 8, until I realize it when I looked at my watch and started to dial it down. I finished a little over 2 hours. I was pretty happy about it, a little faster than my expectation. On the other hand, I glad I came out and saw plenty of my friends crushing the race, oh also I saw a few Flashes.

The Blur Lines
I knew that the Caumsett 50K would be a fast course and would have plenty fast folks, since it was a USTAF Championship. I think I got overlapped by the 50K top 5 runners like 2 or 3 times. The winner took it in 2 hours 52 minutes, 5 minutes shy from the USTAF 50K record, a course record, and about 10 minutes ahead of the second person. Kevin Posner won the 50K non championship category with 3 hours 50 minutes.
